Drag the sun or moon in the sky, or use this slider. The sky follows Terraria’s title-screen day and night cycle.

Music

Click Music to play a random Calamity track.

Music starts automatically when your browser allows it; otherwise it begins on your first click, tap, or keypress. Tracks shuffle without repeats until all four have played.

Pause the music any time. It stays paused while you browse the menus.

Installation Guide

You need a licensed copy of Terraria, Steam running, and a new non-Journey character.

The steps below are the manual alternative.

1. Download the pack

Download Ragnarok client pack (1.45 GB) and extract the whole ZIP. Keep the included mod versions.

2. Get the matching tModLoader

Use v2026.08.3.0 for Terraria 1.4.4.9. If Steam installs a different version, download tModLoader.zip from the official release and extract it into its own installation folder. Use its included platform launcher.

3. Install into a separate profile

  1. Create an empty RagnarokProfile folder.
  2. Copy base/Mods and base/ModConfigs from the extracted pack into it. Keep the included enabled.json.
  3. Optionally copy ResourcePacks into it too.

This installs all 57 required mods, without optional graphics or performance mods.

4. Launch with the profile

Pass this argument to the pinned tModLoader launcher, replacing the example with your actual absolute path:

-tmlsavedirectory "C:\Games\RagnarokProfile"

Windows: make a shortcut to start-tModLoader.bat. In Properties / Target, append the argument after the quoted launcher path.

macOS/Linux: from the installation folder, run:

./start-tModLoader.sh -tmlsavedirectory "/absolute/path/RagnarokProfile"

Let the mods finish loading. Keep Ragnarok Balance Guard enabled. Do not update individual Workshop mods.

5. Join the world

Multiplayer / Join via IP. Use ragnarok.chickenturtle.org, port 7777. Ask the host privately for the password.

Start here. Ordinary lighting, plus Not Quite Nitrate when using the installer. Manual installation uses only the required mods.

Fancy Lighting on its conservative preset, Better Blending, Atmospheric Torches, and Improved Movement Visuals.

The same visual mods with higher Fancy Lighting quality. Try it after you have joined successfully on Low.

An alternative to Fancy Lighting. The preset selects one lighting system.

Rerun the included installer with your chosen preset. Calamity Texture Pack is included; enable it under Resource Packs.

Nitrate and High FPS Support are supplied but disabled. Test each separately before combining. Graphics compatibility and FPS still need real playtesting.

Help

Mod version mismatch

Check that the title screen says tModLoader v2026.08.3.0. Use the local mod files from this ZIP in your separate profile. Keep the guard enabled. If needed, reinstall from the pinned pack and send the exact error to the host.

Cannot connect

Enter the hostname without https:// and use port 7777. Ask the host to confirm the game is running and check the password privately. The website and game share a hostname, but use different ports.

Crashes or low FPS

Try the manual baseline or Low preset. Disable optional lighting, Nitrate, and High FPS Support first. Keep required content mods enabled and send the client log to the host.

World rules

Start a new non-Journey character. No outside progression items or uncoordinated mod updates.

Sorting, quick stacking, storage/crafting and building conveniences are enabled. No vein mining, endless ammo or potions, extra equipment slots, free-item shortcuts, or unrestricted teleportation. Supported summons become reusable after the world's first relevant boss defeat; unmapped summons retain upstream behavior.

What has been tested?

The world generated, saved, restarted, and loaded from an actual backup restore with Expert and Infernum active. Password rejection and pinned-mod synchronization passed from the homelab. A real outside player join, boss fights, all QoL actions, subworld transitions, and graphics/FPS remain unverified. Some nonfatal upstream integration warnings remain.

  2. Open Set Up Ragnarok.cmd.
  3. Choose Low first. Setup downloads and checks the full pack and matching tModLoader.
  4. Open Play Ragnarok, create a non-Journey character, and join.

Check, repair, or switch graphics

Keep the extracted setup folder. Run Check Ragnarok to verify your files and create a support report. Repair Ragnarok restores pinned files. Run setup again to choose Medium, High, or Shadows. Your Players and Worlds are left in place; Mods and ModConfigs are backed up first.

What gets downloaded?

The setup ZIP contains readable scripts and pinned checksums. It downloads the 1.45 GB original pack and the matching 61 MB tModLoader release. The first game launch may download the official .NET runtime. Allow room for the extracted files and future backups.

Windows/macOS may ask before running downloaded scripts. No administrator access is needed. A real graphical launch on your computer still needs to be verified.
