You need a licensed copy of Terraria, Steam running, and a new non-Journey character.
1. Download the pack
Download Ragnarok client pack (1.45 GB) and extract the whole ZIP. Keep the included mod versions.
2. Get the matching tModLoader
Use v2026.08.3.0 for Terraria 1.4.4.9. If Steam installs a different version, download tModLoader.zip from the official release and extract it into its own installation folder. Use its included platform launcher.
3. Install into a separate profile
- Create an empty
RagnarokProfile folder. - Copy
base/Mods and base/ModConfigs from the extracted pack into it. Keep the included enabled.json. - Optionally copy
ResourcePacks into it too.
This installs all 57 required mods, without optional graphics or performance mods.
With Python 3 installed, open a terminal in the extracted pack and run:
python install.py --destination "RagnarokProfile" --preset low
On macOS/Linux, use python3 if needed. The installer checks hashes and prints the absolute profile path. Presets: low, medium, high, shadows.
4. Launch with the profile
Pass this argument to the pinned tModLoader launcher, replacing the example with your actual absolute path:
-tmlsavedirectory "C:\Games\RagnarokProfile"
Windows: make a shortcut to start-tModLoader.bat. In Properties / Target, append the argument after the quoted launcher path.
macOS/Linux: from the installation folder, run:
./start-tModLoader.sh -tmlsavedirectory "/absolute/path/RagnarokProfile"
Let the mods finish loading. Keep Ragnarok Balance Guard enabled. Do not update individual Workshop mods.
5. Join the world
Multiplayer / Join via IP. Use ragnarok.chickenturtle.org, port 7777. Ask the host privately for the password.
